Two posts down we gave you directions to the church from the interstate. Now it’s time for directions to the Museum Center at 5ive Points, where our reception and rehearsal dinner will be held:

…the rehearsal dinner is this Friday, September the 22nd, at 7:00pm. This is open to all family and the wedding party members plus one guest. The rehearsal itself is an hour earlier at the church and the only people that need to be there are the wedding party and parents of the bride and groom. This is so that 50 really hungry and travel-weary people don’t have to sit through what is going to be a relentless stop-and-go process. Instead, stay in your hotel rooms and rest another hour, and then show up at the Museum at 7:00 for some barbeque and music on us, deal?

The wedding ceremony itself will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 23rd at Shiloh Baptist Church. This should last about 45 minutes. Afterwards the congregation will file into their cars and caravan towards the museum for a light reception. The wedding party will rejoin everyone at the museum after all the pictures are taken. Whilst you wait we have some snacks for you mid-afternoon munchers.

It would be horrible if you drove all the way down here to Cleveland and then didn’t know where the church was, so we’ve done a google map from the Wingate hotel (right next door from it is the Baymont, don’t worry) to the church, Shiloh Baptist. …this is just a friendly reminder to please, please, please send in your RSVP’s to us. They serve several good purposes. Firstmost, they let us know how many people are coming, and secondly, they make us happy.

To illustrate, take a normal day over at my apartment. It’s about noon, Randi and I are reading on the couch, and she suddenly springs up.

“The mailman has come!” she says.

“How do you know?” I ask, bewildered.

“I… I just know…” and she runs downstairs, taking three at a time. Seconds pass.

The door erupts; Randi comes in with an armful of RSVP’s, eyes ablaze.

“Look! Look at the people coming! YAAAY!”

A flurry of paper bits. Crying and jubliation at positive responses. Weeping and gnashing of teeth at those who cannot attend.

…do you see how much joy this brings us? Would you deprive us of this wonderful daily tradition? Of course not. So RSVP ASAP.

I must admit, most things seem to be coming alone swimmingly and are staying pretty low key. My bridesmaids are all back in the states now and we’ve been having a blast fixing up little gifts, creating programs and searching for all our craft needs. Since I last posted I have only encountered two difficulties in the wedding planning. The first has been locating dark brown ribbon. For those of you who don’t know, our wedding colors are chocolate brown and sage green. Now when I decided on these colors it was easy enough to find ribbon and other decorations in these two colors, however, within the last two weeks all the chocolate brown ribbon in the world has vanished. My bridesmaids and I have searched everywhere, we’ve even recruited family members in other states to join in our search. In one day we drove to 5 stores in search of the elusive brown ribbon. I do however, have good news…I FOUND THE RIBBON today! Panic no more my friends! Rest my precious bridesmaids, we have ribbon. At least I hope, I haven’t actually seen the ribbon, however a very nice lady at a fabric store assured me over the phone that they have my ribbon on hold waiting for me.

The second difficulty I have come upon during this wedding fun has been tracking down the addresses of nearly a hundred of our closest friends and family. Now one wouldn’t think this a difficult task, however I have spent many hours on the phone trying to track down just where several of my recently graduated college friends have decided to settle down for the time being. The biggest problem is that several of the phone numbers I have for my friends have been changed or are stuck somewhere in the depths of Jamion’s phone in a far away land. So, for those of you reading this post who haven’t yet received your invitation, either it’s on it’s way, or…I don’t have your address and would greatly appreciate your contact info.

So that wraps of the recent wedding activites. Several of you are probably viewing this website in hopes of finding info on booking hotels or directions to our wedding site in Tennessee. Very soon Jamion and I will be updating the site with that information. Jamion and I both realize that for many of you at our respective homes Tennessee may seem like a far away land and we understand if you can’t make it to the wedding. We just want to let you all know that the love and support you each have shown us throughout our lives is greatly appreciated and we want as many of you as possible to celebrate this awesome day with us.

In other news…Jamion comes home this Tuesday!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!!!

I will be coming home from Austria in two weeks to the day.

Less than two months after that, Randi and I will be getting married, and we hope you all can come!

But right now we have to talk about something else.

Presents.

Now, we’re not telling you to give us presents. Not at all. In fact, your presence at our wedding can be your present, if you want. That’s all we ask for and what we so desperately want from you. Truthfully it is moving that you like us enough to come, and we love you for that.

But. Some people have expressed concern about presents. “No, no,” we say, “…we are not interested in material things… we have our love, and our families, and that’s all we need. Keep your presents.” But they insist. And, under great duress, we accept their presents. Not for our sake, you know, but rather so that they don’t have to take them back.

So for those of you that just have to get us something… well, we’ve dug deep and compiled a few lists of stuff we’d accept if forced upon us. Remember, no pressure now, but:

Target – we love Target. We didn’t register for stuff we wanted so much as we just indicated items in the store we didn’t want. Like patio furniture.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond – we don’t think of BB&B as a store but rather our future house that just happens to belong to someone else right now. It’s always amazing to see the stuff in here that you never realize you need until you see it. Like a hammock especially designed to hold overripe kiwi fruit. Whenever we go there, there’s always another couple staring at a tomato peeler or something, and the guy is repeating over and over again, “Baby, we need this.”

And, uhh, we’re either registered at Sears or J.C. Penny’s, too… but I don’t remember right off the top of my head… I’ll ask Randi and get back to you with that one.

…of course, remember what we said about us being happy with just you, OK? We mean it. We love you all the same.

Unless you buy us one of these. Then we love you more.

One, our dear friends Dave and Lorean just got married yesterday! If you know Dave and Lorni then you know just how great they are and how much they’re meant for each other. It’s a wonderful thing when friends get married and even more so when they’re friends as good as Dave and Lorean… so, Congrats! Thinking about them just makes me that much more excited about Randi and me (only a little over two months, now!!)…

Secondly, it’s getting to the point when I can say, only a month until I come home! Now, I’m enjoying all the time I’m having in Austria but it’s so very difficult to enjoy anything to its fullest when you’re away from your partner in crime… so it’ll be nice to come home to Randino, even if it’ll be hard to leave this great experience over here…

 Anyway, thought I’d just poke my head in over here, in case anyone’s still reading!

I just got back the beginning of this week from two wonderful weeks in France with my old roomie. It was such a wonderful time! I also stoped by to visit Jamion in Salzburg, Austria and i must admit he has a nice setup for the summer. It was so great to get to spend time together and to see just what he is doing this summer. Even though we have to be away during these three months of our engagment, i think we are surviving much better than i thought we would. I will admit though, i'll be overjoyed when he gets to come back how!  

Back to the wedding stuff though. As i was saying there sure is a lot to do, but i'm having a blast doing it. My goal is to be a laid-back bride and to not stress out about things. However, i've realized that if i become too laid-back, i might not accomplish everything. So i've spent much of this week doing various wedding things such as assembling invitations, buying decorations and looking at floral arrangements. And believe it or not, despite all the fun i've had with wedding stuff this week, i've resisted all temptations to run around the apartment in my wedding dress (however, i have worn my veil around a few times). With all that said i'm happy to say that things are coming along swimmingly. My mom is coming to visit in a few weeks and after that everything should be in place for the big day! Yippy!

So, now on to all the wedding stuff I've been busy with. This week I have been going about with my mom in search of the perfect dress for myself and my maid-of-honor (my sister). And I'm pleased to announce that I've had nothing but the greatest success. Yesterday I bought my wedding dress (YIPPY!!) and today I ordered my maid-of-honor's dress (another YIPPY!!). It feels so great to have that all done. Last week I went with a few of my bridesmaids and bought their dresses. I officially have all wedding attire either ordered or bought, wedding and reception sites booked, caterers, musicians and photographers decided upon and invitations in hand. With all that it's time to focus on all the little details that make a wedding spectacular!

I have to admit, planning a wedding seemed like it might be a little crazy at first, but I'm having such a wonderful time! It's amazing to see everything just come together. Next week I'm taking a break from everything and traveling to France to spend some time with my old college roomie. After that it's back to Tennessee to try and make sense of the mess of an apartment that is to be mine and Jamion's new home (of course i'm sure i'll write more about that adventure at a later time).
